Today in Titanic History Friday, July 18, 2025 | 1867 - 1st class survivor Mrs Margaret "Molly" Brown was born to John Tobin and Johanna Collins Tobin (both Irish immigrants) in Hannibal, Missouri, USA.
1875 - 3rd class passenger Mr Jean Baptiste Van Impe was born.
1873 - Cook and survivor Mr Alfred Edgar Windebank was born to Charles Windebank (cab driver) and Georgina in Hampshire, England, UK.
1997 - Second targeted US premiere date for James Cameron's movie "Titanic." After a sizable publicity campaign was prepared, the release was delayed from summer to Christmas 1997 while postproduction (especially special effects) took longer than anticipated.

Since December of 1997, Titanic fans all over the world have been reading books, creating webpages, visiting these webpages, writing fan fiction, watching the film repeatedly, and expressing how this movie made them feel through words and art. There is yet to be an official fan site to appreciate and acknowledge the loyal fans of the movie and its real-life history. In the time since the release of Titanic, many websites have started and ceased to exist. As a lasting tribute to this masterpiece, Back to TITANIC is dedicated to the webmasters and fans of Titanic.
